Deepa Lakshmin is a Webby-winning writer and editor based in New York City who's covered everything from travel to entertainment to politics. She's currently the director of social media at Lonely Planet, where she leads social strategy and creates travel content for @lonelyplanet’s 13 million followers. She was previously the managing editor of Meta (formerly Facebook) and Instagram's B2B content marketing blogs and as a journalist, she’s written for National Geographic, Vox, MTV News, NYLON and more. Over the past decade, she’s brought her love of words to many industries—ad agencies! tech giants! marketing campaigns!—through a variety of in-house and freelance roles both inside and outside of newsrooms.
